Device Replacement Guide: Correct Procedures Following Loss/Damage of Old Device

When your old phone is lost or damaged, follow these steps to ensure secure migration:

Step 1: New Device Binding

  1. Prepare your PlugOS device and product key card

  2. Connect the device to your new phone (must meet these system requirements):

    • Android devices: Requires Android 8.0 or higher
    • iPhone devices: Requires iPhone 15 or newer models, running iOS 17 or higher

  3. Download and install the PlugOS client on your new phone

  4. Select “Add New Device” → “Bind via Product Key”

  5. After completing identity verification, enter your previously set unlock password. Successful verification grants full access to all data

Step 2: Manage Device Authorization (Important)

  1. Immediately after successfully binding the new device:
    • Go to PlugOS Settings → Device Authentication → Manage Host Devices

    • Locate the lost/damaged old device in the device list

    • Click the “Delete” button next to the corresponding device

    • Enter the unlock password. Upon successful verification, confirm to unbind the device.

Special Situation Handling
If encountering the following scenarios:

  1. Forgotten password: Reset using the product key (will erase device data)
  2. Lost key: The device will become permanently unusable
