For security purposes, PlugMate does not support password or device key recovery. Please safely store your password and product key. If you forget your password, you will need to perform a factory reset to set a new one. Note that a factory reset will erase all data stored on the device. If your product key is lost while the device is already paired with your host, you can generate a new key after accessing the PlugMate system. However, there is no way to recover the product key if it is lost before the device is paired with a host.
If the password and key cannot be retrieved or traced, does this mean that even professional data extraction and recovery tools cannot successfully restore the data if they are lost? For some personal data that I want to erase, can I solve the problem by restoring factory settings and resetting the password? Is this a correct understanding?
Yes. All data inside PlugMate is fully disk-encrypted. If your password or key is lost, even professional data extraction and recovery tools cannot recover data stored on the device. You may perform a factory reset to erase any personal data you no longer need.
