My primary development environment is Ubuntu, but I noticed that PlugMate doesn’t seem to offer an official Linux client application. Is there any way to usePlug Mate on a Linux laptop?
Thank you for your inquiry. Currently, PlugMate has not released an official native client application for the Linux desktop environment. Our development resources are primarily focused on mainstream platforms such as Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS to serve the broadest user base. While we understand the needs of Linux users, there is currently no officially supported solution available. For more details, please visit plugMate.net.
Thank you for your reply. We look forward to your company developing a Linux system client application for PlugMate as soon as possible.
+1 please consider into making a linux client !
I am curious if that would work with scrcpy. For those who don’t know scrcpy on linux already allows users to mirror their regular Android phone on the desktop. There is also and GUI for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJvHC6PM3Ss&t=117s
It would be nice if PlugMate were to be scrcpy compatible. That way, you would not have to go through the hassle of building an entire client specifically for linux.
scrcpy is a security nightmare. I don’t think it is a good idea to support it.
I see. Well, hopefully, some open source guy will come up with an unofficial client for linux.
The first Linux Beta build (x64) of the PlugOS Client is now available for testing, with core PlugMate management functions included. Advanced features will be added in next update.
If you wish to use PlugOS on Linux as soon as possible, you may join our beta program.
Currently, certain Linux distributions have known compatibility issues that may cause PlugOS to crash. We are actively working on optimization and fixes.
